Code of Conduct for Players

Warrenpoint Tennis Club believes that it is important that all members, coaches, volunteers and parents associated with the club, should always show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others.

Warrenpoint Tennis Club would like to offer all members a positive experience where they can enjoy sport in a safe and encouraging environment.

Members of WTC are expected at all times, including when representing the club externally, to abide by the following code of conduct:

Respect and Behaviour

Members must:

• endeavour to make our club a fun place to be

• be friendly to all and particularly welcoming to new members

• follow club rules and policies at all times

• behave in a manner that avoids bringing the game of tennis into disrepute

• understand that unsporting behaviour such as throwing rackets, hitting the racket head on the ground or hitting balls at people or fences is not acceptable

• always attempt to protect and further the Club’s good reputation

• respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, gender, ability, race, cultural background or religious beliefs or sexual identity. Never use derogatory language based on gender, race, religion or impairment including on technologies like social media

• show tolerance, courtesy, good manners, fairness, honesty and integrity in their dealings with Club officials

• treat all players as they would like to be treated themselves. Members must not ridicule, interfere with, bully or take unfair advantage of another player

• always remain outside the court boundaries and show support respectfully to players in matches. It is courtesy to check with the players if they are comfortable with an audience.

• must not take photos, film or record other members without their permission.
